Shadows of the past (Part III)

Shadows of the past

Chapter III

Nathalie and Pete were watching "Die Another Day", a James Bond movie. One of their favourites, as both being fans of action movies. Spike, their German Shepherd, was laying on the carpet next to the couch. Nathalie petted him gently on the head. She felt safe and loved, wrapped in Pete's arms. She started to worry about Dylan, though. All alone in her apartment. Dylan didn't have a boyfriend like she and Alex had. She turned to look at Pete.

"I think i'm gonna call Dylan. Ask her to come over. She shouldn't be alone. Not now.." Pete looked puzzled.

"What do you mean with 'not now'? Did something happen?" He asked placing a soft kiss on top of her head. He hated seeing her worried like this. One of the things he always liked about her was her cheery personality.

"Well.. You remember the conversation we had some time ago, about Dylan not being herself lately?" Pete nodded.

Nathalie took a deep breath before continuing. "When we were at the Agency this morning, it wasn't all good news. Charlie also told us that some of O'Grady's thugs got away. They should be in prison, not running loose."

"Oh.." Was all that Pete managed to say. "Yea. You had to see the look on Dylan's face.. I could see she was trying to put on a happy face but inside.." She sighed. "Let's just say it wasn't what she needed to hear. I'm just glad that Seamus is dead."

"That Seamus guy really left a mark on her, didn't he?" Nathalie nodded. "And definitely not a good one.. that son of a bitch.." Pete handed her the phone with a smile. "Call her." Nathalie gave him a half smile. "You ok with it?" She asked. Pete nodded."Go on."

"All right." She quickly dialed Dylan's number and waited for a response. "Hmm.. she's not picking up." Nathalie said concerned.

"Maybe she went to the store and forgot to take her phone with her." Nathalie nodded thoughtfully.  "You're probably right. I'll call her in the morning than." She hung up the phone and went back to watching the movie. "Hope you're alright Dylan.." She added under her breath as she snuggled into Pete's arms.

He was grateful for the fact that his apartment wasn't far from where the accident had taken place. It would only cost him precious time. As soon as he entered his apartment, he went straight to his bedroom and gently placed her on his bed. Aside from the wound on her head she only seemed to have a couple of bruises on the side of her neck and on her arms. But nothing too serious. He quickly took of his jacket and hung it on a chair on the other side of the room. He rolled up his sleeves and went in the bathroom to get something to clean up the wound. He was glad that he had so much medical supplies. As an assassin it was necessairy. You just couldn't go to a doctor or the hospital whenever you needed it. Not with your name on the Hitlist of the CIA.

"Aww.." Dylan groaned as she shifted on the bed. She slowly opened her eyes. "Where am I?" She said turning her head to look around. She tried to get up but quickly stopped trying and fell back on the bed. "Damn.. My head.." She moaned. She felt a little dizzy and then everything went black.

Anthony thought he heard something or someone and took a quick glance into the bedroom. Dylan was no longer unconscience. But it was only for a very short time before she blacked out again. Maybe for the best, he thought to himself. He still had to clean and treat that awful gash on her head. Luckily it was just a flesh wound. She will probably have a headache afterwards. But he didn't know how she was going to react at seeing him again and more important at him being alive. Or maybe she thought that he was going to kill her. He sat down on the bed and quickly treated the wound. He didn't want her to lose any more blood. He had stopped the bleeding and bandaged it as best as he could. Luckily it didn't really need any stitching. He laid her in a more comfortable position. He then placed a soft kis on her lips. He took his jacket of the chair and left the room. His Angel needed her rest.

Several hours went by. Anthony opened his cigarette case and took one out before placing it back into his pocket. Smoking had been a nasty habbit for the past couple years but it always seemed to calm him down, so why bother quitting. He lit his cigarette and inhaled deeply before blowing it out of his nostrils. He leaned against the wall and looked out the window. He wondered if it was such a good idea bringing the Angel here. Not so long ago, they were enemies. He had tried to kill her and her friends. But somewhere along the way, it seemed like they made some sort of weird connection. He had always liked her hair but it was turning into something more.. He could feel it. He had hoped to see her again, but not this soon and not under these particular circumstances. But he couldn't just leave her there, he knew he cared too much.. That kiss on the rooftop was just the beginning of it. He sighed and sat down in one of his black armchairs.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sullivan and Ivan had gone to Shawn O'Grady's place to tell him about their encounter with the Angel.
"Mr. O'Grady, We did as you asked us." Shawn grinned. "Good..Very Good." He said. He sat in his armchair and poured himself a drink.
"But I don't think she's dead." Sullivan hesitatingly said.
"Can't you do anything right?" He asked angrily. Sullivan shrugged. Shawn sighed. "So what happened?" He asked. Sullivan and Ivan exchanged glances. "Well?" Shawn asked a bit annoyed by the silence.
"Well we wanted to know if we succeeded so we parked the car a few streets from where the accident occured and went to check it out. We didn't want anyone to see us in that car. It's a stolen one after all. So we went on foot and when we got there she was nowhere in sight. Only an empty car. Police and paramedics were at the scene. I decided to ask someone and he told me that they just found the car. No one inside. I didn't want to cause suspicion so me and Ivan left short after that." Sullivan explained to his Boss.
Strange. Who would just leave without even taking the time to wait for the police or paramedics. She must have gotten hurt. It didn't make much sense. "Did you check out the hospitals?" He asked them. This time it was Ivan who answered. "Yes we did. No one was brought or came in under the name of Dylan Sanders or Helen Zaas."
Shawn rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "What about her place?" Sullivan shook his head. "No one home." Shawn slammed his fist on the desk. "Where the hell is she?" He yelled angrily.
"Maybe she went to one of her friends. One of the Angels." Ivan suggested. Shawn looked at him. "Perhaps. Those damn Angels." He ran a hand through his hair before saying. "When she shows up let me know. Keep an eye on her place. But stay out of sight!" He ordered them. They both nodded. "And now get out!" He growled and poured himself another Scotch. Sullivan and Ivan left without saying another word.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dylan slowly woke up. When she was fully awake, she sat on the edge of the bed, taking in her surroundings. She didn't recognize this place, this room.. Where was she? What had happened? She remembered going for a drive.. and a car coming from the opposite direction.. Was she in an accident? It had to be. But than how did she get here and wasn't she at the hospital? Somebody had taken care of her because she was taped up on the side of her head. Her head still hurted a lot, though. A painkiller would be nice. She decided to have a look around. She got up from the bed and walked around. Who ever lived here had no intention of killing her. When she got to the living room she stopped dead in her tracks. Sitting in an armchair was the Thin Man. Alive and smoking. Was she dreaming? He can't be sitting there. He is dead. No wait, he was dead. Or atleast we all thought he was. She smiled a little as realisation struck her. He's alive.. Anthony is alive. She closed her eyes for a brief moment and when she opened them, a pair of blue eyes were looking at her. She slowly walked towards the other chair and sat down. She shifted uncomfortable. Dylan didn't know what to say but she tried anyway..

"I thought you were dead.." She finaly said. He shook his head. He produced a notepad and pen out of his jacket and began to write. He gave the note to Dylan.

"I survived the fall." Dylan smiled. "Yea, I can see that." He quickly wrote another note and showed it to her. "How are you feeling? You should rest." She sighed. "I've been better. But i'll live. Do you have anything against pain because my head really hurts..?" He nodded and wrote something down. "Supplies are in the bathroom. I'll get you something."

"That would be nice." He left the room and came back with a glass of water and something to ease the pain. He handed me the glass and the painkiller.

"Thanks." She quickly swallowed it with some water. "And thanks for taking care of me.." She said as she placed the glass on the small table in front of her. Anthony just stood there looking at her, like she was some kind of rare and beautiful creature. It made her blush.

She got up and took his hand in hers, giving it a light squeeze. A hand snaked into her hair and she braced herself for the pull but it didn't came. Instead he let go of her hand and placed it around her waist, pulling her closer. It reminded her of that night on the rooftop.. But now they were alone.. No thugs.. No Madison.. No Seamus.. He bent down and kissed her. How she had longed to kiss him again. It felt so right.. After a while they broke apart. She rested her head against his chest and hugged him.

"I'm glad you're alive Anthony.." She whispered against his chest. He pulled away and looked rather surprised at her. She smiled a little. "I mean it.. I know this is kinda strange.. But since that night.. I thought alot about you.. " She confessed. Dylan then grabbed for the medallion that she was wearing underneath her shirt. "You probably want this back.."

He was surprised to see that she actually wore his medallion, to keep it yes, but wear it? .. But he was happy too.. That must mean that she cared for him aswell. She wanted to give it back but he wanted her to keep it. He shook his head and placed it back around her neck. He took his notepad and quickly scribbled something down. "No, You can keep it if you want too.." She looked up at him and smiled. "All right."

There was so much she wanted to ask him.. She didn't know where to start. She then felt a wave of dizzyness coming over her. "I don't feel so well.." She saw Anthony writing something down. He handed her the note. "Get some sleep. You need it. It's getting late anyway." Dylan nodded.

"Yea, I'll try to get some sleep." She placed a quick kiss on his cheek. "We'll talk later." He arched an eyebrow at her. "Well, I'll do the talking,You'll do the writing. Ok for you?" He slowly nodded. She smiled. "Good."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Morning Sweetie." Pete whispered in Nathalie's ear putting an arm around her waist. "Hey." She softly said, turning around. She placed her arms around his neck and gently kissed him.
"You know we should really have more movie nights like that. Just the two of us." Pete nodded. Nathalie had been a little worried about Dylan but she had managed to enjoy the quiet evening. Being an Angel could be hectic from time to time.
"I made you scrambled eggs and some toast." She quickly turned to her frying pan. "Yea, Smells good." Pete sat down at the table awaiting his breakfast. "Here you go." Nathalie handed him the plate with a bright smile. "Thanks honey." He quickly said before digging in.
Spike came running into the kitchen. "Wow. Down boy." Nathalie laughed putting the bowl with his food on the ground.
"So got any plans today?" Pete asked. Nathalie sat next to him with a bowl of cereal. "Well, shopping sounds good to me. You know, just us girls." Pete smirked. "Yea I DO." Nathalie grinned and gently elbowed him. "Yea, I was going to give Dylan a call anyway. Should be fun."
"Sounds like a plan." Pete agreed.
Shadows of the past (Part II)
Shadows of the past
Chapter II
Dylan woke up with an enormous headache. After seeing the movie, they decided to go to a local bar where they had a couple of drinks.. Well a lot of drinks and going from how she felt now it hadn't been a very good idea. At least she had a great time. Got her mind off of things for a while. She groaned as she slowly got out of bed and went to the bathroom. Damn her hair was a mess.. She was a mess. Not to mention how terrible she felt. After she showered, she headed for the kitchen to get herself an asperin. She sank onto the couch with a glass of water when her cell phone rang loudly. Not now! Sometimes she hated those little buggers. She picked it up from her salon table to see who it was. Bosley.
"Hey Bos. What's up?" "Can you stop by the Agency?" I didn't know we had a case..
"Well, Nice timing.." I mutter out loud. You know, my head is killing me.. But he doesn't know that Dylan..
"You alright?" Bosley asked. "Yea Bos, everthing's fine. Just got a headache from last night. I'll get over it."
Good ol' Bos, always concerned about the Angels. "I'll be right over." I added before hanging up.
Dylan had much more preferred to just crawl into her bed again.. Didn't get much sleep last night either. She got up and quicky dressed herself. She had a feeling this was going to be a long day. Dylan grabbed herself a donut and raced to the Agency.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She drove her car up the drive way of the building. She went inside as Alex and Nathalie were probably there waiting for her. And right she was. She was always late.

"Hey Dylan!" Alex and Nathalie greeted as Dylan entered the room. "Hiya guys. What's up?"

"Hey Bos." Dylan quickly added as the three of them sat down on the couch. Bosley smiled and winked at her. "You'll soon find out." He added.

Dylan groaned as her head still pounded away. She so hated headaches. Her friends were definitely in a better mood than she was.

"Having a hangover Dylan?" Alex asked, acting all innocent. Nathalie just grinned. They hadn't drank as much as Dylan had last night.

She glared at both of them. This wasn't funny! "Yea Quite a good one too.." She mumbled.

Alex smiled at Nathalie as they both hugged their friend. "Gee, Thanks!" Dylan mocked, hugging her friends back. She was glad to have them. They were the best.

"Goodmorning Angels." The speaker box said. It was the familiar voice of Charlie.

"Goodmorning Charlie." The angels chimed in perfect unison.

"First congratulations on your last case. Nicely done Angels." They all smiled at eachother. "Thanks Charlie."

"Because of that and the previous Halo case, I think you all deserved some time off. A months vacation, how does that sound?" Charlie asked the girls.

"Sounds great." Alex said looking at Dylan and Nathalie who both nodded.

"Good that's settled then. But I also have other and rather disturbing news.. Especially for you Dylan."

"Why is that?" Dylan asked.  An uncomfortable silence filled the room. She did not like this.

"Well Dylan it seems that few members of the O'Grady clan got away from the authorities, after Seamus went down." Charlie said, hesitating a little. He knew this was a delicate subject for Dylan.

Dylan's face paled at the mention of O'Grady. "I don't know if it's really of any importance or that we should be worried but I wanted you to know this. I know you can take care of yourself, but please do be careful." Charlie simply added.

"I'll be fine Charlie. Can't believe they got away but thanks for letting me know." Dylan said still a little shaky from what she just heard.

"This certainly isn't good news.. But we will take good care of Dylan." Alex said as she hugged her friend.

"I know you will. Well that's all for now Angels. Enjoy your time off and take care of yourselves. And if there's anything you need, do not hesistate to contact me." Charlie pressed, still a bit concerned.

"We will Charlie." Nathalie said, smiling at the prospect of a little vacation. "Don't worry." She hugged Dylan too who had a hard time smiling.

"Hey, don't forget about me!" Bosley said with a huge smile. They all bursted out into laughter, even Dylan managed to look a little happier.  "We would never forget you Bos."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After their little encounter at the Agency, Dylan drove back to her apartment. She needed some time alone. Hearing that there were still some members of the O'Grady clan on the loose was quite a shock.  She thought it was over. But maybe she was wrong. She had suffered enough because of her mistake when when she was younger. Her friends didn't think it was something to be too worried about. But than again she knew the O'Grady's much better than the other Angels. From now on, she had to watch her back..
Dylan sank onto the couch. She was right about one thing though, it was going to be a long day. At least her headache had disappeared. She looked over to the window. Rain slowly started to fall. She closed her eyes and listened to the sound of it against her window. She loved that sound. She could feel herself slipping away.. drifting off to hopefully some pleasant dreams..
I couldn't get away from Seamus. He was choking me and if that wasn't enough I was hanging dangerously from a high building. He wanted me dead, more then anything. Before I knew it  I was in Anthony's arms. I didn't struggle to get away from him. He had just saved me from Seamus.
I was so frightened by the look he had on his face but then our eyes locked. He pulled me closer and I put my hands on his hips. One hand was tangled in my hair, the other around my waist holding me tight. Our faces were only mere inches apart and than our lips met in a passionate kiss. All logical thoughts fled from my mind. It was then that I felt an intense pain on my scalp. He had pulled my hair..Again.. We broke apart and I saw him standing there, holding my hair, smelling it. A scream erupted from his mouth. That damn hair fetish of his. He had such a savage look on his face. It sent chills down my spine. Apparently I had ripped some of his hair out too as I was holding a lock of black hair in my hand. I slowly brought it to my face and caressed my cheek with it. He seemed to like that..
To my surprise, I had noticed that he was trying to say something. He had never spoken before.. and now he was trying to say something..to me..of all people. I tried to encourage him to continue.. "Yes? Say something.." It never came.. His eyes widened.. Suddenly I saw his sword being pierced through his chest. Seamus was standing behind Anthony. He was still alive. Anthony backed away from me and fell of the egde of the roof onto the hard concrete. I couldn't believe that this was happening.. "Noooo!" I screamed. But it was too late..The silent assassin was no more. Murdered by my ex-boyfriend.
"No..No..Nooo!" Dylan screamed over and over again. Her eyes flung open. She quickly sat up. She was breathing rapidly. With her sleeve she wiped the sweat of her forehead. She just had a nightmare. A nightmare that had happened not so long ago. She looked at her watch and noticed that she had only been asleep for an hour.
"So much for relaxation.." Looking over to the window, she saw that it was still raining outside.
"I need some coffee.." She got up and walked to the kitchen. Dylan poured herself a rather large cup. "Better stay awake for a while." She thought as she took a sip from it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anthony was laying on his bed. His schoulder didn't hurt so much anymore. He had been practicing with his sword, or rapier as it is called, earlier today. He stared at the ceiling. He missed the action, not really the killing but mostly the fights. He was a good fighter. So was she.. The auburn haired Angel. Why did he think of her so often? He never really cared about anyone except for his parents, Mother Superior and the other nuns. They had been good to him. Did he actually care for Dylan too? Well he had tried to protect her from Seamus that night..They had even shared a brief but passionate kiss. He was on their side for a change..and he liked it.

But he had not only saved two of the Angels, he had also saved Max at the Coal Bowl. Max was an orphan too. He was hired to kill an other assassin, named Emmers, who in turn was hired to kill Max. The Angels tried to stop Emmers but he got there first. After that, he and Dylan crossed in the air with their bikes and he was able to pull out some of her hair. She grabbed for his necklace. The medallion he got at the Orphanage. He wondered if she would still have it..A part of him hoped she would. He had lost focus when he grabbed her hair and had ended up slamming his bike into a giant wall. He remembered the surprise in her eyes when he took of his helmet. She hadn't expected to see him again. He smelled her wonderful hair as he saw her looking at him. He was the Thin Man, a killer but somehow she made him all warm inside. She made the ice melt.  Maybe, he really cared for her. He got up and decided to go for a walk. He needed the fresh air. He hadn't been much outside the last couple months. He pulled on his jacket and left his apartment.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was getting dark outside. It had finally stopped raining so Dylan decided to go for a drive. Hopefully it would get her mind of certain things. She grabbed her car keys and headed downstairs. But she had a feeling that she forgot something. The medallion! Dylan rushed upstairs to get it. She didn't want to leave it there. She already felt bad for not wearing it the previous night. She grabbed it from her nightstand. Now she was ready to go. She had a 65'  dark blue Mustang. A convertible. She really loved that car. Luckily there wasn't a lot of traffic. This was going to be quite a joy ride. She stepped on the Gas pedal and drove off. She turned on the radio and switched through the stations. A particular song caught her attention though it wasn't really her style of music, it made her think of Anthony..
"You cause desire and pain. You tangle me up in your chain. You made me the slave of your love. It feels like heaven above. It's you. Forever you.." She shook her head and smiled to herself. What had he done to her?
"The magic is filling the air. I need you. You know that I care. You are the one I adore. Leavin' me begging for more. It's you. I know it's you." Her smile faded and tears were filling her eyes. Crying for someone, something that couldn't be anymore. "Anthony.." She whispered, wiping away some tears.
Suddenly a blinding light was blocking her view. She had been so distracted that she almost hit a Truck that came the other way. Focus Dylan.. don't get too carried away. Then, something else caught her attention. "What the hell?" A car tried to hit her, drive her off the road for some reason.. She tried to shake it off, trying to avoid other cars and other obstacles but she failed. She lost control and crashed into a parked car on the side of the road.
~*~
A black car stopped.
"Hmm. That went pretty well. Don't ya think Sullivan?" Ivan asked his companion.
He nodded and smiled. "The boss will be pleased. But maybe I should go check up on her. See if she is dead.." He was about to get out when Ivan grabbed his arm.
"No.. If not we'll end it next time. We can't risk to be seen. We get rid of the car first and then we can go back to check it out." He said.
Sullivan nodded. He was right. That could mess things up. "Yeah, let's get out of here before the Police arrives." He said closing the door again.
Ivan started up the car and slowly they drove off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anthony was walking along the sidewalk when he heard something. It sounded like a car crash or something. He lit a cigarette and went in the direction of where he thought the sound had come from. He had been walking for a couple minutes when he saw the car who was a total loss. There was still someone inside. He could tell it was a woman from where he was standing. He looked around but saw no one. He took one last drag from his cigarette before tossing it on the ground and moving towards the car. He may be an assassin but he wasn't going to let some innocente woman die here. When he tried to open the front door he noticed that the young woman looked familiar. At least her hair did. He couldn't see her face because it was laying on the steering wheel. There was a large gash on the side of her head which was bleeding hard. He had gotten the front door open and he tried to move her back against the seat. He moved some hair out of her face. His heart started to pound fiercely in his chest. He felt paralyzed. It couldn't be. It was Dylan. He had to do something and fast. His angel was hurt. He couldn't just leave her like this. He felt for a pulse. He let out a deep breath. She was still alive. He loosened the seatbelt and thank god she was wearing one. He gathered her in his strong arms and walked as fast as he could towards his apartment.

Shadows of the past (Part I)

Shadows of the past

Pairing: Dylan/Anthony (Thin Man)
Summary: To be added later..
Setting: After Charlie's Angels: Full throttle.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters. Though I wish I would own Anthony :p He's kinda sexy :D

Chapter I

It was 4 months after the Halo Case. It had been a rough assignment for the Angels. Especially for Dylan. Dealing with Seamus O'Grady was one of her worst nightmares. She had hoped to never see that guy again. It was a sin from the past, a mistake. She dated the leader of the Irish Mob. How the hell did she ever end up with that guy? But they got rid of him, permanently now.. She would never have to fear him again.. Sadly, the Thin Man had died too. Although she preferred calling him Anthony. He was named after Saint Anthony, healer of the mute. It was a name given to him by Mother Superior back at the orphanage. An assassin named after a Saint. It was quite an amusing thought. But that thought quickly disappeared when memories of that terrible night clouded her mind. When Anthony got stabbed with his own sword and fell of the roof to his death. Before that, he had saved her life.. Safely wrapped in his strong arms.. Far away from Seamus. At first she had been a little frightened by him. He looked like he was going to kill her, which wouldn't be a surprise.. But after a few seconds his face turned soft and before they both knew, they were kissing. She felt as if she was in Heaven, the kiss was wonderful, but it soon turned into Hell when Seamus showed up. That fuckin' bastard had killed Anthony.

Dylan sighed at the memory as she watched tv. She was brought out of her thoughts when her cell phone rang. She didn't want to get it but it could be important so she picked it up anyway.

"Hello?" It was Nathalie.

"Oh Hi Nath. Everything ok?" She sat back on the couch putting some candy in her mouth.

"Fine yea. Wanna go out?" Nathalie asked.

"Dunno Nath, I'm not really in a going-out mood." She tells me that Pete and Jason are out together and that we can go see a movie or something.

"Well, you guys go without me. I'll be fine." Nathalie sounds rather disappointed. "Come on Dyl, It'll cheer you up." She pressed on.

"Like I said before i'm fine." Obviously Nathalie didn't believe a word of it. She's right when she says I haven't been the same for the last couple months.

Dylan sighed. She could never fool Nathalie. But she didn't feel like telling them about Anthony. She was afraid that they wouldn't understand. They were her best friends but still she shouldn't be pinning over some assassin with a strange hair fetish who tried to kill them..And not just once but on several occassions. But she couldn't help it. She had this - Feeling - for him.. She wished he'd still be alive. Even if he is a killer, he did save her life back on that rooftop. Not to mention Max's.. And even Alex's.. It made her believe that there was more to him than just a ruthless assassin. Dylan did her best to sound as happy as possible.

"Really Nath, i'm fine. Believe me. Ok?" Finally, she's going to let it go. But she still wants me to go out with them. Dylan knew Nathalie wasn't going to let her of the hook this time. "Fine. What time you gonna be here?" Better as well agree with her. "We'll pick you up at 7."

"All right. See you guys at 7. Bye"

She hung up the phone and took a sip of her coffee. Her eyes drifted to the small table near the armchair. Anthony's medallion was laying on top of it. Dylan walked over to the table and took the medallion in her hand. She fingered it for a while before she decided to put it on.
His medallion was now hanging underneath her black blouse, between her breasts, close to her heart.. It made her feel a little better. He would have wanted her to keep it safe. It was the least she could do for him..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alex arrived at Nathalie's place. She went to the front door and pushed the doorbell. A few minutes passed. "Nath what's keeping you.." She muttered impatiently.
"I'll be right there." Alex heard Nathalie shout from inside the house. More minutes passed as Nathalie finally opened the door. "Hey Alex. Come on in. Sorry for keeping you waiting..Spike was giving me a hard time. Puppies.. " She smiled sheepishly at Alex. Nathalie closed the door and motioned for Alex to sit on the couch. Nathalie went into the kitchen. "You want anything?" She asked Alex.
"No thanks." She said.  Nathalie grabbed herself a coke and sat down next to her friend.
"You know, Alex. I'm really concerned about Dylan. She hasn't been herself after that Halo Case. I really had to convince her to come with us tonight." She said before taking a sip from her coke.
"I'm sure Dylan's fine. We all know that the Halo case has been rough on her. She just needs some time to cope with it. Besides that, she has us. And if there's really something important that she has to tell us, she will. We're her best friends for God's sake." Alex said trying to assure her that Dylan would be oke. Nathalie nodded.
"Yea, I know but still..She has been this way for several months now. Maybe there's more to it than we think.  Something tells me it has something to do with the Thin man."
"Really? Because of what happened on the Rooftop? True, we both saw what happened.. I don't think Dylan knows that.." Nathalie nodded again.
"No she doesn't and you have to admit it was kinda strange to have him as an ally.. Him of all people."
"Yea.. It was a rather strange situation.. First he tried to kill us and than he was helping us? Well, he was still an assasin. A bad guy.. Wait a minute.. You don't think she actually feels something for him? You know.. Creepy Thin Man..?" Alex asked half shocked.
"Well, he did safe your life and Dylan's that night.. And she always falls for the bad guy.." Nathalie pointed out.
"Uhu..But still.. Be reasonable.. You're talking about Creepy Thin Man here." Nathalie laughed. "Hey.. He does look kinda nice in that black pinstripe suit of his." Alex couldn't believe that Nathalie was saying something like that. "Nath you gotta be kidding me. Ok, i'll admit. He does have a quite good fashion sense but he's still a killer! He gives me the creeps."
"I know. And he used to be a killer. He's dead now." Nathalie corrected. "Died the same way as his victims did." She added softly. Alex nodded. "Yea I almost forgot." But Alex definitely didn't like the idea of Dylan and Creepy thin man together. Not that it still mattered..
"She does have a wrong taste in men.. Although I do think that maybe our favourite assassin had a good streak after all." She took another sip of her Coke and looked at Alex. "Nevermind.. I just want our happy Dylan back.." Nathalie then added.
Alex moved closer and hugged her friend. "I know Nath. She will get over it. So why don't we go get her and have some fun." Nathalie smiled and nodded. "Right. Let's go."
"Helen Zaas.. You all know her."
"Seamus' ex girlfriend." A voice said behind him.  Shawn O'Grady nodded and turned around to face his thugs. Some of them he had gotten out of prison awhile ago. They used to work for his brother Seamus.  The others were all dead.  Like their Boss, killed that night on the Roof, by the Angels.
"Yea that's the one. Or Dylan Sanders as she is called now, The Angel. The one you already tried to kill before. I'm sure my brother told you everything about her."
Helen.. That name crossed his mind all the time. The bitch who put his brother in jail and is also now responsible for his death. He knew how much Seamus hated Helen.. or Dylan.. He would finish what his brother had intended all along. She's going to pay for this.. She and those other two medling bimbo's.. Enough of playing little games. He looked at Sullivan, one of his thugs.
"You." Shawn growled as he pointed his finger at Sullivan.  "Tomorrow.. Watch her and when you get the opportunity.. Give the little Angel soms driving lessons will ya." Shawn said and laughed. He then put on a serious face before adding "Don't disappoint me. Or you're the one whose going for one."
Dylan debated with herself about getting dressed up or not. It was only a movie after all. But then again maybe she would meet a nice guy.. "Nice guy?" She chuckled at her own thoughts. When did she ever dated a really nice guy? Besides The Chad, who was basically just a nerd. But meeting someone else would be a welcome distraction from a certain assassin, though. Even their previous case couldn't get her mind of him.. Or at least not for long. At times it could be really annoying.. not to mention depressing.. Thinking about a dead guy didn't exactly cheer you up..
She pulled out a tight blue jeans and a white tank top out of her dressing drawer. Would be nice enough. Dylan quickly got dressed and pulled on some black high heel boots. She looked at herself in the mirror. Not bad. Not bad at all.
"I guess that's gotta do it."
She noticed Anthony's medallion on her nightstand. She had put it there when she had taken a shower. She probably shouldn't wear it.. not a good idea.. What if Nathalie or Alex spotted it.. Better leave it at home. She wasn't in the mood for any more questions.
The doorbell rang. Probably Alex and Nathalie. Right on time. Dylan went to open the door.
"Hey Dylan!" Nathalie said.
"Hiya guys. Come on in. Make yourselves comfortable." Alex and nathalie stepped inside. Dylan closed the door and walked to the bathroom.
"I'll be right back. Still got some things to do." She told her two friends. "Take your time Dyl." Nath said.
They both sat down on the couch.
"So do you already have a movie in mind?" Dylan asked them raising her voice a bit.
"Actually, we don't know yet. I thought we could pick one out when we're at the Theatre." Nathalie yelled back.
"Yea, Fine by me." She said as she was putting on some make up. She never liked too much of it but a little wouldn't hurt.
"Ok, almost done. Just my hair now."
Alex looked at the clock. They should be going pretty soon. "Hurry up Dylan, we don't wanna be late." Nathalie sighed. "We have plenty of time Alex." Alex rolled her eyes. "Right.." She muttered. Nathalie just giggled.
"Done." Dylan said putting on her golden earrings as she walked in to the living room. "Let's go guys." Alex and Nathalie got up and walked to the door. Dylan grabbed her jacket and purse and followed them out.
Maybe spending some time with her two best friends was all she needed. It couldn't get much worse anyway.
His shoulder, still a little painful from time to time, was healing alright. He has always been a quick healer. He also knew that he was really lucky to be alive after he took a dive from a ten story high building with a sword sticking out of his shoulder. Seamus hadn't been so lucky. He fell on top of him and got pierced right through the heart with the same sword. Anthony had managed to get Seamus out of the way.  Then, he had tried to stand but the pain was almost unbearable. After a while he succeeded.
He owned a small but nice apartment a few blocks away. He had managed to get in and to get the wound cleaned up. After that everything went black. The pain was too much. But after a while he woke up. It was then that he knew he was going to be alright. Luckily the sword hadn't hit any vital organs. Several months had passed. He didn't think he deserved to be alive after he already killed so many people. It wasn't fair but than again God had been watching over him. And he was thankful. Maybe now he and "his" angel would meet again. Actually he was looking forward to the confrontation. He was still an assassin. Soon enough he would be back on the job. Or he could just try to visit her? He didn't know. For now he just stayed in his apartment, recovering from a miracle.
